コレクターには聞くことは？
疑問文の練習のとき、ティーチャーはコレクターに扮して模擬問答をすることになった。何を集めているの？絵？いつの時代のもの？どこに飾っているの？どうして好きなの？いくらくらいだった？
色々投げかけるが、ティーチャーは答えつつも首をフリフリ。一番大事な質問を忘れてるよ！一番に聞かなきゃ！
いくつ持っているの？だよ！
文化の差なのか、個人の感覚なのだろうか・・・。コレクターの人に、すぐ個数を聞くのに抵抗がある。どんなものを集めて、なんとなく規模の予測をつけてから個数を聞いてリアクションを取らないだろうか。
もう一度観に行く！
グレイテスト・ショーマンについて話していた時のことだった。明日観にいく、１回観たけどとしどろもどろになりながら説明する筆者にティーチャーは爆笑しながら教えてくれたのだった。
今日のフレーズは…
楽しかったので、次の日曜日にもう一度観に行きます。
willよりもI’m going toを使った方がより自然だということだった。また、下記でも良いと教えてもらった。
gonnaはよりカジュアル
今回のテーマフレーズに関して、さらに注釈をもらった。gonnaはよりカジュアルだけど、仕事では利用してはダメということだった。関係代名詞のwhichの使い方など、すごく勉強になる文だなぁと思ったので貼っておきたい。
Note that I used “I’m going to” instead of “I will.” There’s no real reason for that other than “it sounds better.” Which it does.
By the way, maybe you’ve come across this already, but a super casual form of “I’m going to (verb)” is “I’m gonna (verb).” Don’t use this in anything work related (unless the atmosphere is very relaxed and casual)! But for a post like this it would be good practice every once in a while 🙂
But be careful! You can only use “I’m gonna” with a verb after, like I labeled above. You can’t use it when “going” is the only verb, as in “I’m going to the store.” You can’t say “I’m gonna the store.” You can say “I’m gonna GO to the store,” which is the casual form of “I’m going to go to the store.”
